Teddy Day is not only about exchanging teddy bears it carries a deeper meaning. Aside from love and affection, the exchange of these teddies symbolizes tenderness, comfort, security, and warmth. It’s a day not only for couples to celebrate, it's also a special occasion for friends and families to spend the day with each other.

Brief History

These soft and squishy toys are loved by everyone no matter the age. And the origin of Teddy Day is deeply intertwined with the origin of the toy itself. Back in 1902, the 26th president of the U.S. Theodore Teddy Roosevelt went on a hunting trip and during that trip, he refused to shoot a captive bear whose legs and hands were tightly tied up.

His compassion towards the animal left Clifford Berryman in awe which inspired him to make a cartoon on this story. This led to the creation of a bear-shaped toy by Morris Michtom and it was named “Teddy Bear”.
